Talking Headz

West Philadelphia has been waiting for a salon like you, Talking Headz.

About a month ago, they gave us our wish and opened along Baltimore Ave. where a barbar shop once was.

I haven't known where to go or what to do since my stylist took off for South Philly, so I've gotten just two trims in over a year. Both were at mediocre places I didn't care to revisit.

They scheduled me for a cut & color the afternoon after I called. They have three stylists. I had an Angel. She was wonderful. The atmosphere was comfortable, like visiting a friend of a friend on a summer afternoon. Their screen door creaked open for customers and a local who chatted about worldwide scavenger hunts. I was relieved to find the company they kept was friendly and warm instead of more-hipster-than-thou, which if you know what I mean, you'll know what I mean.

I came face to face with my first grey since the fire. Meet Mr. Fuzzyheart. This is his home. He sensed my reluctance to associate so woo'ed me with scratchy tongue kisses while I was trapped under the dryer. I thawed just a bit. My heart is reminded it's still broken when felines appear.

Child conscious: they had a kids' nook.

 Welcome, Talking Headz.

You're the best cut I've had in ages.

I feel like topiary.

I no longer feel like a NICU cave-dweller.

 Tee, however, refused to look.

How dare I leave the house?

The end.

Now it's your turn.
