Hunting? Yes.
For Trees? Yeah!
We discovered a tree map in Clark Park. It's always been there with terrific iron sculptures around it but I never actually stopped to focus on the map.
It says there is a Catalpa.
Why is that relevant?
Well, because I grew up on Calle Catalpa! Many of the streets in my city were Calle Something. Calle means street in Spanish.
Having grown up on the street of catalpas I don't know what they look like in real life because there weren't any actual catalpas on our street. There were oaks. Our city was called Thousand Oaks.
Since we're discussing trees and my childhood I find this the perfect (and perhaps only) opportunity to share the fun fact that we had several amazing trees in our backyard. Such as a lemon, pepper, and cherry trees.
When Bee, Tee, & I got to the map at the park it was impossible to read! Snag! Which shade of green?? Which way was up? Where could it be? Instead of allowing our adventure to be soiled we decided to find a pretend catalpa.
Our adventure begins like so many others... |
but no clouds in sight! It's beautiful out! |
Bee checks the map. Tee shrugs. |
We rode a concrete turtle! |
and let a random dude sitting on a bench hold our baby! |
The flowers of a catalpa light up the sky... |
Tee was SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Busting-at-the-seams excited!!! He turned into a monster catalpa-loving koala! |
Are we done yet? It's not a real catalpa, you know... Yes, Tee, we know. |
omg! that gave me the biggest shock ever! hahahaha. that's probably only like the 2nd time he's ever held a baby. you guys are brave.
